The Brooklyn Steakhouse Experience - Wed 6th July @ 7pm (GF)Inspired by modern charcoal fired Brooklyn steakhouses we are hosting a pop-up eat and learn event at our HQ.
Cost:€150.00 per person
About this experience
Inspired by modern charcoal fired Brooklyn steakhouses we are hosting a gluten-free pop-up eat and learn event at our HQ. Unlike the other events in this series there will be no starters or dessert. This is a pure steak experience.
On the night we will have a sommelier talking about wines and pairing wine with each steak. We will also be pairing different flavours of wood with different steaks. All wine is complimentary - you will be not be charged extra whether you are drinking or not drinking. Please don't drink and drive.
You will eat very very well on this night, but some of the steaks are going to be so intense (and expensive) that we will all be trying a small portion.
We will substitute another steak just as good if one of the below are not available on the day. Some steaks cooked to suit the cut so please don't ask for well done - it will not be possible if we are all sharing - but there will be at least two full steaks each that can be cooked to your liking.
Irish Grass Fed Donabate Dexter Sirloin Steak served with GF Cashel Blue Cheese Sauce (Full Steak)
Irish Dry-Aged & Whiskey-Aged John Stone Striploin basted with Abernethy Butter (Taster)
Glenarm Shorthorn Dry-Aged T-Bone from Hannon Meats basted with Abernethy Butter (Generous Taster)
American Grain-Fed USDA Prime Black Angus Striploin from Higgins Butchers basted with Abernethy Butter (Generous Taster)
Irish Grass Fed Skirt Steak from the Traynor's Butchers flash cooked at 500C served with GF Pepper Sauce (Full Steak)
Organic Lambay Island Beef from Kerrigans Butchers (if available)
Gutrei Galicia Roxa d’ouro Club Steak from Higgins Butchers (or equivalent from another provider) (Taster)
New Zealand Free Range Grain Finished Ocean Beef from OS Beef (Taster)
Japanese Kobe Wagyu Beef A5 from Higgins Butchers (or the closest equivalent in stock) cooked on Binchotan Charcoal (Taster)
Vintage Reserve Dry Aged Tomahawk from the Premium Butcher served alongside a savoury BBQ sauce (Generous Taster)
Served with olives, home made roast almonds, and an Irish cheese board.
Soft drinks & water
This will not be a hands on event like the others, but you will be watching the steak cooking, and you will learn loads about wine and different types of steak.
We have ample parking at the venue. All food and equipment is provided. There will be basic toilet facilities. The venue is partially outdoors (with shelter available) so please bring a rain coat. The venue is accessible, but you may need some assistance with a low step. Children are welcome, but please be aware that we are on a very busy main road and constant supervision is required. Children do not need as ticket if you are happy to share with them.
This event is 100% Gluten Free
Please note we cannot cater for allergens, dietary requirements, or special requests. This event is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians!
You will not be handling raw meat. You will be provided with hand-washing facilities. You will be partly preparing your own food and this is a learning event rather than a catering event. We are approved by the HSE to make cakes and prepare sauces in our kitchen and we have HACCP training. All other meal prep will be hands on and part of the learning event.
Laura & Ruairi are obsessive barbeque and baking fanatics and we want to bring our joy for food to you.
